The resounding, bustling spring – akiClassics with Heike Schäfer & Stefan Kägi

In this concert, Duo TASAI – Stefan Kägi (piano) & Heike Schäfer (double bass) – takes us on a musical journey to the shores of Lake Zurich. We hear how it dances, loves, leaps, and lives, immersing ourselves in the bustling energy of spring. A lively spring scene comes to life, transforming into joyful, contemplative, lively, and serene music.

Inspired by Beatrice Kaufmann’s Das Zürich Wimmelbuch, published by the Bernese publisher vatter&vatter, spring blossoms in colours and sounds.

Admission is free (collection). After the concert, all visitors are warmly invited to an apéro.

Heike Schäfer – double bassist and music educator – studied double bass and music education at the Freiburg University of Music and the Zurich University of the Arts. She has performed with numerous orchestras, including the German National Youth Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, and the National Theatre Mannheim.
Heike Schäfer has been awarded several scholarships, including those from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, Villa Musica, and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In addition to teaching at the Zurich Conservatory and serving as a juror for Swiss youth music competitions, she regularly performs with chamber music ensembles across Switzerland.

Stefan Kägi – chair performer, lamellophone virtuoso, passionate computer musician, and federally certified squeaky pig tamer – studied piano, improvisation, contemporary music, jazz piano, and organ at the Zurich University of the Arts. He enjoys working at the intersection of art and science, using both analogue and digital instruments. His interest in music history led to a new edition of a work by Joachim Raff, created in collaboration with musicologist Severin Kolb for the music publisher Breitkopf & Härtel. Stefan Kägi has performed at venues such as the Tonhalle Zurich, LAC Lugano, Gasteig Munich, Kaserne Basel, Hyperlokal Zurich, on the Limmat River, and at various festivals in Switzerland, Germany, and Iceland. His current projects include the techno band Candytoe, the duo OHRABLÜATLER, and the duo TASAI.
